The Donkey & The Dog.
Ireland is in no short supply of interesting people! Every year a man sets up out side Claddagh Jewellers with his donkey and his dog. The donkey and the dog seem like they are best friends and people stop all day long taking photos of this wonderful pair. Christmas in Galway would not be the same without these beautiful animals. Turning on the Christmas Lights
We are very lucky to have front row seats to watch the Christmas lights been turned on here in Galway. We watch from our windows and customers all over the world watch our webcams to catch a glimpse of the beauty of Galway on this night. Huge crowds gather on the streets of Galway. Christmas Carolers fill the air with our favorite Christmas tunes and the countdown is on for the switching on of the lights. Santa walks through the city ringing his bell followed by a festive bus and a crowd of people. Once the lights are switched on, everyone heads down to Eyre Square where we listen to music, eat, drink & be 
merry.
Galway Christmas Market.
Galway Christmas Market is definitely a must see if you are visiting Galway at Christmas. The market is based in Eyre Square and is busting with some amazing hand crafted stocking fillers. It is a family fun day out in Galway where you can buy your Christmas tree, do some Christmas Shopping, play some carnival games and visit the German beer tent. It's a Christmas lovers dream.
A stroll on the Claddagh.
If you don't know by now, Galway is home to the Claddagh where the Claddagh ring originated. If you are visiting Galway, grab yourself a coffee and walk the Claddagh. The crisp air and amazing views will be a highlight of your trip. Make sure to drop into our Claddagh Legend visitor centre, located by our shop and watch a short movie of the origins of the Claddagh ring on your way back.

Galway is known for its buskers and Christmas time is no exception. Christmas songs are playing up and down shop street from morning to night. These talented musicians add a Christmas cheer and a festive feeling that needs to be experienced.
